Patients news < BACK
Shipka (Rosehip) and Glog (Hawthorn) are leverets. Their eyes are covered because the stress of being in a human environment is enormous for them and often even deadly. Until they get used to us, they cannot eat if they see.
Unfortunately, people who encounter a leveret often feel unable to leave it where it is. Nevertheless, this is the right solution for this species if the leveret is not visibly injured or brought by a dog or а cat.
As tiny and cute as they are, they are well-suited for their life in the wild - they don't just freeze and aren't abandoned, which are the two most common explanations for taking a leveret from nature.
Try not to be tempted to meet these cute long-eared fellows, we humans do not need to capture everything we see. Knowledge and reason are the best advisors.

For Shipka, Glog and the hundreds of other babies that we, as every year, expect to be flooded by, you can help us with funds for their breeding. However, it would be even more valuable to help us raise funds to build a Wild Hospital for animals of all kinds, protected and unprotected. This is our great goal and the only way to continue to exist and develop for the benefit of wildlife.
