The Yellow-Legged Seagull Captain Breeze
03/30/2020
The Yellow-Legged Seagull Captain Breeze

The yellow-legged seagull Captain Breeze hung for 4 days with one of his wings attached to a wire, before he could be removed from there. The tissues of the wing are quite torn, some of them are necrotized, the bone was uncovered and therefore - it was exposed to atmospheric conditions.

Captain Breeze is stitched and well hydrated and we hope the therapy will help the tissues to recover. It will be a long and difficult recovery, but there is still a chance that the Captain will feel the breeze in his feathers again!

Our human world is full of such small things that we do not even notice, however they cause death of animals in a particularly painful way. This was just an insignificant wire joint...

Many thanks to Nedyalko Simonov, who went down to take down the bird ❤ Thanks to everyone else involved!

***
Currently, due to a total lack of space, we are not able to admit all the affected seagulls and larger birds, for which we receive signals daily. This could change with the construction of our Wild Animal Hospital of all species, protected and unprotected. This is our great goal and the only way to continue to exist and develop for the benefit of wildlife.

Wild Animals Foundation is a non-governmental organization. We exist only thanks to donations and without you - our donors, we will not be able to raise the necessary amount for the Wild Animal Hospital.

You can see who we are, what we do and how you can help us in the video for our fundraising campaign here:
